Pedro Schwartz is Professor of Economics at the Universidad Autonoma de Madrid, Spain. He is an expert on pensions, monetary policy, and European economics. He is a former member of the Spanish Parliament and is currently a Director of Foreign & Colonial Eurotrust Plc. He was made an honorary Officer of the British Empire by the Queen in 1990. He also contributes to several major Spanish newspapers including The Vanguardia and El Pais.
